DESCRIPTION

The ADS5400 is a 12-bit, 1-GSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from both a 5-V supply and
3.3-V supply, while providing LVDS-compatible digital outputs. The analog input buffer isolates the internal
switching of the track and hold from disturbing the signal source. The simple 3-stage pipeline provides extremely
low latency for time critical applications. Designed for the conversion of signals up to 2 GHz of input frequency at
1 GSPS, the ADS5400 has outstanding low noise performance and spurious-free dynamic range over a large
input frequency range.
The ADS5400 is available in a TQFP-100 PowerPAD™ package. The combination of the PowerPAD package
and moderate power consumption of the ADS5400 allows for operation without an external heatsink. The
ADS5400 is built on Texas Instrument's complementary bipolar process (BiCom3) and is specified over the full
industrial temperature range (–40°C to 85°C).

description

The TLC7528C, TLC7528E, and TLC7528I are
dual, 8-bit, digital-to-analog converters (DACs)
designed with separate on-chip data latches and
feature exceptionally close DAC-to-DAC matching.
Data are transferred to either of the two DAC
data latches through a common, 8-bit, input port.
Control input DACA/DACB determines which
DAC is to be loaded. The load cycle of these
devices is similar to the write cycle of a
random-access memory, allowing easy interface
to most popular microprocessor buses and output
ports. Segmenting the high-order bits minimizes
glitches during changes in the most significant
bits, where glitch impulse is typically the
strongest.
These devices operate from a 5V to 15V power supply and dissipates less than 15mW (typical). The 2- or
4-quadrant multiplying makes these devices a sound choice for many microprocessor-controlled gain-setting
and signal-control applications. It can be operated in voltage mode, which produces a voltage output rather than
a current output. Refer to the typical application information in this data sheet.
The TLC7528C is characterized for operation from 0°C to +70°C. The TLC7528I is characterized for operation
from −25°C to +85°C. The TLC7528E is characterized for operation from −40°C to +85°C.

CMOS Technology
description
The TLC548 and TLC549 are CMOS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) integrated circuits built around an 8-bit
switched-capacitor successive-approximation ADC. These devices are designed for serial interface with a
microprocessor or peripheral through a 3-state data output and an analog input. The TLC548 and TLC549 use
only the input/output clock (I/O CLOCK) input along with the chip select (CS) input for data control. The
maximum I/O CLOCK input frequency of the TLC548 is 2.048 MHz, and the I/O CLOCK input frequency of the
TLC549 is specified up to 1.1 MHz.

Operation of the TLC548 and the TLC549 is very similar to that of the more complex TLC540 and TLC541
devices; however, the TLC548 and TLC549 provide an on-chip system clock that operates typically at 4 MHz
and requires no external components. The on-chip system clock allows internal device operation to proceed
independently of serial input/output data timing and permits manipulation of the TLC548 and TLC549 as desired
for a wide range of software and hardware requirements. The I/O CLOCK together with the internal system clock
allow high-speed data transfer and conversion rates of 45 500 conversions per second for the TLC548, and
40 000 conversions per second for the TLC549.
Additional TLC548 and TLC549 features include versatile control logic, an on-chip sample-and-hold circuit that
can operate automatically or under microprocessor control, and a high-speed converter with differential
high-impedance reference voltage inputs that ease ratiometric conversion, scaling, and circuit isolation from
logic and supply noises. Design of the totally switched-capacitor successive-approximation converter circuit
allows conversion with a maximum total error of ±0.5 least significant bit (LSB) in less than 17 ms.
The TLC548C and TLC549C are characterized for operation from 0°C to 70°C. The TLC548I and TLC549I are
characterized for operation from –40°C to 85°C.

DESCRIPTION
The SN65HVD230, SN65HVD231, and SN65HVD232 controller area network (CAN) transceivers are designed
for use with the Texas Instruments TMS320Lx240x™ ; 3.3-V DSPs with CAN controllers, or with
equivalent devices. They are intended for use in applications employing the CAN serial communication physical
layer in accordance with the ISO 11898 standard. Each CAN transceiver is designed to provide differential
transmit capability to the bus and differential receive capability to a CAN controller at speeds up to 1 Mbps.
Designed for operation in especially-harsh environments, these devices feature cross-wire protection,
loss-of-ground and overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, as well as wide common-mode range.
The transceiver interfaces the single-ended CAN controller with the differential CAN bus found in industrial,
building automation, and automotive applications. It operates over a -2-V to 7-V common-mode range on the
bus, and it can withstand common-mode transients of ±25 V.
On the SN65HVD230 and SN65HVD231, pin 8 provides three different modes of operation: high-speed, slope
control, and low-power modes. The high-speed mode of operation is selected by connecting pin 8 to ground,
allowing the transmitter output transistors to switch on and off as fast as possible with no limitation on the rise
and fall slopes. The rise and fall slopes can be adjusted by connecting a resistor to ground at pin 8, since the
slope is proportional to the pin's output current. This slope control is implemented with external resistor values of
10 kΩ, to achieve a 15-V/μs slew rate, to 100 kΩ, to achieve a 2-V/μs slew rate. See the Application Information
section of this data sheet.
The circuit of the SN65HVD230 enters a low-current standby mode during which the driver is switched off and
the receiver remains active if a high logic level is applied to pin 8. The DSP controller reverses this low-current
standby mode when a dominant state (bus differential voltage > 900 mV typical) occurs on the bus.
The unique difference between the SN65HVD230 and the SN65HVD231 is that both the driver and the receiver
are switched off in the SN65HVD231 when a high logic level is applied to pin 8 and remain in this sleep mode
until the circuit is reactivated by a low logic level on pin 8.
The Vref pin 5 on the SN65HVD230 and SN65HVD231 is available as a VCC/2 voltage reference.
The SN65HVD232 is a basic CAN transceiver with no added options; pins 5 and 8 are NC, no connection.
